Hungarian Roma Protest Killings
Fed up with the spate of killings of their people, Hungarian Romani gypsies are demanding more police protection. A blood stain marks place where a member of Hungary's Roma community was shot and killed by an unknown assailant. His was the seventh Roma death in Hungary in a year and the third fatal shooting targeting the Roma community in the past five months. In March a father and his five year old son were killed as they ran from their home which had been set alight. The incident mirrored a similar attack on a man and woman in November.

Sri Lankan civilians trapped in 'no fire zone'
As the Sri Lankan government confronts the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), between 15,000 and 50,000 civilians are estimated to be trapped in the conflict zone - a four square kilometre pocket of land in the northeast. Some civilians are now in about 40 overcrowded camps after fleeing LTTE-held areas. Thousands more have fled to the frontline coastal village of Puttumattalan, which until earlier this week, was in the so-called "no fire zone".

Unbelievable how these attacks are done to militaries offering humanitarian help, distributing food and how children are amongst the dead. How benefits? What's the point? Crackdown in Burma
